The NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4x4 Expo isn’t your typical city trade show – it’s an event with small-town personality, big outdoor passion, and a regional feel you won’t find anywhere else. Each expo celebrates the local community, while bringing together outdoor brands, gear makers, and enthusiasts in a way that feels authentic, hands-on, and proudly Kiwi.

As Chris Woodhams from Boating New Zealand put it:

“Rotorua’s NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4X4 Expo brings together boatbuilders, gear makers, and outdoor enthusiasts in a hands-on celebration of Kiwi tradition. From locally built aluminium boats to inventive fishing gadgets, the show captures the heart of provincial New Zealand and the pride of a community that lives for the outdoors.”

In 2025, over 90% of exhibitor sites were booked out six months before the event. And now, due to growing demand, the Expo is going national in 2026 – expanding from Rotorua to also include Nelson and Palmerston North (in 2027). With more regions on board, demand for sites is already higher than ever. Booking early not only secures your place but also gives you the best chance of locking in your preferred site location.
