2025 was another huge year, with another 11,000+ people coming through the doors in Rotorua. Thanks to the incredible support of Aotearoa’s outdoor community, and exhibitors we’re amped to be taking things national in 2026!
That’s right… in 2026 the Expo won’t just be in Rotorua! We’re also heading to Nelson and Palmerston North, bringing all the action, all the gear, and all the know-how to even more regions across the country. Each stop will carry its own unique flair while still keeping that authentic regional feel that makes this event so special.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
Rotorua (August 21–23, 2026): The return of the iconic Big Four Hunting Competition plus all your favourite exhibitors, gear, and interactive displays.
Palmerston North (July 2026, dates TBC): Outdoor cooking takes centre stage with BBQ & Pit Masters showcasing the very best in flame-grilled and smoked eats, alongside all the hunting, fishing, and 4x4 gear you know and love.
Nelson (October 16–18, 2026): Our very first On Water Boat Display – see the latest boats in action on the water, plus all the hands-on demos and exhibits the Expo is known for.
Whether you’re into hunting, fishing, boating, off-road caravans, or fully kitted-out 4x4s, the Expo is the place to explore, try, and connect. With live demos, free workshops, family-friendly activities, and plenty of wild food and refreshments, there really is something for everyone.

GIVING BACK
The NZ Fishing, Hunting, and 4x4 Expo is more than just a celebration of the outdoors; it’s about giving back to our community. Eastern Fish & Game has been a past benefactor of the expo for our first three years, and in 2025 we proudly added Child Cancer Foundation and Stoney Creek Hunt for Good to our recipients. Through Stoney Creek Hunt for Good and our BIG FOUR Hunting Competition we were able to donate 350kg of venison mince and 8x pigs to our Rotorua & Bay Of Plenty community groups. Additionally, with the help of Walker Boats, Arcryte Engineering, Thompson Marine, Telfer Marine, BoatDek, and many others we were able to raffle off a $35K boat to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation. While we fell short of our $22,000 target, we were still able to make a sizeable donation to this worth cause.
