If you want to be part of the Show & Shine Comp – powered by Bowater Motor Group – at the NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4x4 Expo in Nelson (16-18 October 2026), we’re looking for builds that represent what overlanding is all about.
They don’t have to be clean. They don’t have to be shiny. But they do need to show well-thought-out, high-quality functionality. We want to see the details – the setup, the mods, and the thinking behind your build. Show us how your rig earns its place in the Show & Shine. Don’t forget to pack your stumps, ramps, or anything that can show off your rigs articulation or suspension to help make your vehicle stand out so you have a better chance to win the $500 cash in the People's Choice award!

Show & Shine – Ultimate 4x4
This one’s all about the full package: practicality, purpose, and good clean mahi.
Winner will receive:
Set of 4 Cooper AT tyres (17” or 18”)*
Alt Tune (ECT Tune) valued at $990*
*Tyres and Alt tune must be fitted at the BMG Store.
People’s Choice Award
This is the crowd favourite – judged by the public in attendance at the event.
Winner will receive:
$500 CASH!
All Categories Prize Notes:
One prize per entrant to help keep it fair.
If someone wins multiple categories, the top result stands – the next best in line will get the other prize.
To be considered for a prize your vehicle must be on display during the full expo opening hours:
Friday 3pm-7pm
Saturday 9am-4:30pm
Sunday 9am-4pm
Judges’ decisions are final.
