Helen English is a Rotorua-based artist known for luminous, nature-inspired paintings - native wildlife, underwater worlds, and strong connections to the New Zealand landscape. Her work captures the same thing that draws people outdoors in the first place: the wild, the untamed, the beauty of the natural world.
At the Expo, Helen will have original paintings and prints for sale, alongside a live look at how she works. She also takes commissions - a favourite fishing spot, a memorable catch, a hunting dog, a family 4x4 trip through the back country - turned into a painted piece that lasts a lot longer than the photo on your phone. She'll be giving away a framed print over the weekend.
Her work has featured in exhibitions across the North Island and internationally in mural festivals in the UK. She paints the outdoors New Zealanders love - this is a natural fit alongside the gear and the trips that get people into it.
